Red Barn Yarn has always focused on high-quality bases, each uniquely hand-painted.

RBY features tonal solids and coordinating hand-painted variegated options, most of which can also be customized into gradients. We also offer unique-of-a-kind yarn paintings known as “Uniquities,” which I love creating for that special garment idea.

Driven by a lifelong passion for fashion, fiber, textiles, and color, I launched the business in 2008 with 24 colors and the first stockist in Claremont, California. I continue to be captivated by the joy of producing beautiful yarn and spend most afternoons in my studio.

The colors and their names are inspired by nature and the world around us, with some names designed to make you smile and others to spark your imagination, all encouraging your creativity.
