Red Barn Yarn recently participated as an exhibitor at The National Needlearts Association (TNNA) Winter trade show in San Diego, California. This is an industry event which allows us to have some face-to-face time with local yarn shop owners and designers. Our booth featured “Shawls Galore” and we’d like to take a moment here on the blog to give you a peek at the designs.
There is something truly special about shawls. Shawls can be created in a seemingly endless combination of stitch patterns, colorways, shapes, and sizes. It is this flexibility that makes them a wonderful learning project! For a touch of warmth around your neck or shoulders, shawls are equally welcome during winter snowstorms, cool summer nights, and air-conditioned offices.
Shown here on is the front of the Swallow’s Wings Shawl (left) and the back of Wisteria (right). These two patterns are free with purchase of our Mink yarn during a Minkstravaganza trunk show (ask your LYS for details!).
Shawls are also wonderful items to work up in heavier weight yarns! Each of these shawls are knit in Red Barn Yarn Worsted. At left is the Two Skein Shawl shown in the Acorn colorway and on the right is Belle Haven by Tanis Gray in the New Green colorway.
Do you have a favorite shawl pattern? We’d love to be inspired by your pattern choice! Let us know in our Ravelry group or on our Facebook page!
